The church at Ephesus was influenced by the prevailing views of society regarding women. The same could be said about the church today. The church is often influenced by the world instead of being an influence on the world. Are your views shaped by the opinions of society or by God’s Word? Think about your position on such issues as women’s roles, abortion, homosexuality, creation and evolution, the Christian’s responsibility to government, lawsuits, and divorce and remarriage. Spend time in prayer and ask God to give you the courage to take a stand on these issues based on His Word—no matter what views society propagates. Then pray that the church as a whole will also stand firm for God’s truth.
